Author(s): Lois E. Daly
Christchurch City & Banks Peninsula | Secondhand
Secondhand.
This book contains personal narratives of Dallington residents’ experiences of the big quake of 4 September 2010, and during the year or so which following it. The stories have been told by people with a wide range of experiences – families with children at local schools; people living alone; residents in the red zone; residents from the green zone; a couple who started distributing water and food from their home after the big February quake; volunteers at the Dallington Community Hub; the practice manager at the Medical Centre; a pharmacist; a teacher and pupils from Banks Avenue Primary School. In addition to the stories, there is an introductory chapter about the suburb and the earthquakes, and a final chapter about the situation in the suburb after the ‘year of quakes’.
