On 25th October 1949 a group of people met in Wellington to form an Association. These 22 people had one thing in common - all were parents of children with intellectual disabilities. They were determined to improve conditions for their children. Today IHC New Zealand Incorporated is the largest voluntary organisation in New Zealand. Parents continue to be a driving force within the movement. This is the story of their battle for justice.
