Local Description

Soon after her nine-teenth birthday nurse Christina Margaret Sullivan set out with another young nurse on an extensive cycling and walking holiday. On the 7th of April 1948 they lost their lives on the Southern Alps whilst crossing from the Douglas Hut to the Hermitage.

Thought to be irretrievable, this her journal was lost amongst the snows along with the rest of her pack, and was successfully discovered after eleven months.
