Thames Goldfields: A History from Pre-proclamation Times to 1927

Author(s): Fred W. Weston

Cadsonbury | NZ North Island

For the first time in the history of the Thames goldfield an attempt is made, in this publication, to give a connected account of it's discovery, development, and productivity.

Most of the facts here related are extant in a fragmentary form, scattered through Government Blue Books and the newspapers of Thames and Auckland for the last sixty years, but no attempt has hitherto been made to bring them into focus.

The present publication is a modest endeavour to put before the public facts gathered by the writer from his own recollections, printed documents, and information obtained from actual pioneers.
